"Classical dance is an art, a form of meditation, an excellent medium of expression and a way of life!"
Under the guidance of Guru Mrs. Maneesha Sathe ‘Kalarthi’, dance institute was established in Pune on 9th Feb 2008. At ‘Kalarthi’ we believe that students along with learning Kathak and other art forms can have a distinct identity and that is why ‘Kalarthi’ this name was thought to be appropriate as ‘Kalarthi’ means the one who is keen to learn. Our vision is to take ahead the tradition of Maneesha taai’s Guru Nataraj Pandit Gopikrishnaji and to propagate and promulgate the art of Kathak. Students actively participate in various competitions and appear for the exams and come out with flying colors. Efforts are made to organize ‘Abhinyas’, a program where students get an opportunity and a platform to showcase their dancing skills. Weekend batches are conducted at Mayur colony, Kothrud and on weekdays at NDA Pashan Road, Bavadhan, Pune. Every person to have a worthy life must learn at least one art form and dancing is one of the art forms which gives you a balance of both mental and physical fitness. Also, the satisfaction derived out of learning a traditional dance form is unparallel.
